What Kind of Maintenance do Solar Panels Require?
Solar panels generally require minimal maintenance as they are designed and constructed to withstand exposure to the elements and to resist corrosion.
Always be safety conscious when inspecting panels, and use caution with ladders if your panels are difficult to see well from the ground.
Panel Cleaning
Airborne dust, dirt, pollution, animal droppings, grime, tree sap and leaf debris, sea salt, moss and fungus can all contribute to a substantial reduction in solar energy generation.
Relying on rain alone to keep your solar panels clean is generally insufficient.
For a general cleaning, you can simply use a garden hose to wash the surface of the panels either early in the morning or in the evening. It is important not to spray cold water onto hot panels as you could cause them to crack.

Not many people are aware of the benefits of a full system service and why they should be conducted.
In addition to a full clean, the system needs to be checked to ensure all components safe and in proper operating condition.
